IAI's 'Global competition and political risk' programme analyses how interactions between global players contribute to shaping international relations both regionally and globally, with a special focus on the role of the EU and its member states. The Programme has a triple focus: a) the foreign policy of the US, China, Russia and other global players; b) intra- and inter-regional dynamics in and between the Americas, Eurasia, East and South Asia; c) Europe's relations with global players and role in regional contexts.

Ongoing projects include work on: US and the Americas, Asia, Russia.
