  • IAI was ranked best Italian research center in the "Top Defense" and "Top Foreign Policy" categories of the 2017 Global Go To Think Tank Index Report produced by the University of Pennsylvania. The Institute was also ranked in the Top 20 Think Tanks in Western Europe category.

  • The IAI, together with other 42 European partners, has won the most important of three projects awarded by the European Union under the ‘Preparatory Action on Defence Research’ programme: OCEAN2020. The consortium is led by Leonardo and will study the integration of airplanes and helicopters, with or without pilot, in the naval missions in the Mediterranean and the Baltic.
