Jean Pierre Darnis

Biography

Jean-Pierre Darnis is associate professor at the University of Côte d’Azur (Nice) and coordinates their masters degree programme in “Languages and International Affairs - France-Italy Relations”. He is also associate fellow at the Fondation pour la Recherche Stratégique (FRS, Paris) and teaches Contemporary History at the faculty of Political Sciences of Luiss Guido Carli. He coordinates the research seminar about "France, Italy and their Mediterraneans'' for the Centre de la Méditerranée Moderne et Contemporaine's (CMMC/ Nice) research unit. In 1997 he completed a PhD in Humanities at the University of Paris X Nanterre and in 2012 earned the “habilitation à diriger des recherches” (HDR) at the University of Grenoble-Stendhal. He is a contributor to the Italian newspaper Il Foglio, member of the editorial committee of the journal Cahiers de la Méditerranée and member of the scientific committee of AffarInternazionali journal. He is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Courtyard of the Gentiles (Pontifical Council for Culture). At IAI he was director of the Security, Defence, Space programme, head of the Technology and International Relations programme, scientific advisor.
