In 2020, as the pandemic expanded globally, some began to wonder whether it was going to put an end to Xi Jinping’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). The debate on the status of the BRI rarely focuses on its components within the EU. For this reason, this event will offer analysis from some of the EU’s countries that signed into the BRI, focusing on the state of development of the initiative in its economic components and political elements.
