The second conference organized by the CBRN-P3 Cluster aims to address CBRN risks and threats that can have an impact on the population and the environment, focusing on accidents, natural disasters, terrorism, crime and political instability, but, above all, on the need for better prevention, as well as on the preparedness of management capabilities for each CBRN event.

The main purpose is that indicated in the Cluster CBRN-P3 formula: to raise awareness of the need for greater "Preparedness, Prevention and Protection".

REsilience Support for Critical Infrastructures' through Standardized Training on CBRN - RESIST

The project gathered six Italian partners of the CBRN-P3 cluster together with the Romanian cluster PROECO-CBRNE. RESIST aimed at the development of high-level technical expertise in operators of critical infrastructure and public spaces. Operators of public spaces and critical infrastructure (CI), in fact, are increasingly faced with many and varied types of events, natural or artificial.

Innovative Cluster for Radiological and Nuclear Emergencies - INCLUDING

The project is led by ENEA (National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development) and has a five-year duration (2019-2024). The Project brings together 15 partners from 10 EU Member States operating in the field of radiological and nuclear emergencies (RN). Through INCLUDING, the members of the Consortium pursue to develop a Federation in which individual members can cooperate to provide a common framework to standardize access to their respective facilities, enhance interoperability and allow a more intensive use of equipment.

Development of New Solutions for the Protection of European Citizens and Infrastructures Against Terrorist Threats – EUProtect

The project brought together six European partners led by STAM. EUProtect purpose was to develop new concepts of urban landscape design, taking into account changes in terrorist threats and recent attacks (Paris, Brussels, Barcelona and Nice) against the so-called “soft targets”, public and crowded places and crowded allowing terrorists to maximize the number of victims. Special attention was paid to citizens, through the modeling and simulation of their behavior in the event of terrorist attacks.

Out of the security deadlock: challenges and choices in the Sahel

The project focused on the governance of security sector reform (SSR) in Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger and on its interlinkages with other regional security processes. The analysis of governance connected to SSR also included its links with disarmament, demobilisation and reintegration (DDR) of violent extremists and militias, a pivotal issue in the region. The research placed particular emphasis on the role of the European Union and of other international actors in the region such as the United States, Gulf Countries, and China.
