The event will discuss opportunities and challenges that the Green Deal strategy may encounter over the next five years. The conversation will be kickstarted with the presentation of the fourteenth issue of Green Deal Watch, a quarterly publication edited by the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI) that monitors European climate policy developments.

Under the Italian presidency, the G7 countries have announced the progressive abandonment of coal for energy production by the first half of the 2030s or in a period consistent with maintaining the temperature increase within one and a half degrees. To this end, it is necessary to promote the development of innovative technologies through structural interventions and investments. The event intends to discuss the key technologies for decarbonisation on the path towards "Net-Zero" and the possible paths to be taken in the coming years.

Study on Copernicus satellite data usage for action against environmental crimes

The project aims to analyse the use of satellite data, and in particular that provided by the European Union's Copernicus programme, in the fight against environmental crime. Unlike similar initiatives, the research excludes environmental monitoring, focusing instead on the enforcement of environmental legislation, supporting police, prosecutors and civil society in tackling environmental offenders.
