The Union for the Mediterranean

- current

In the framework of the Barcelona Process, the summit of heads of state and government held in Paris on 13 July 2008 decided that the Union for the Mediterranean would replace the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership. The Institute has followed this transformation ever since it was first proposed by France in 2007, immediately after Nicolas Sarkozy was elected President.
