Produced in the context of the Defence Matters project, a IAI study analyses the relationship between Italy and NATO with a specific focus on Europe-Russia relations and Italy’s participation in NATO missions abroad.

Today as always, the construction of Europe and the deepening of integration cannot be achieved without a close and engaging relationship between Germany and Italy. Well aware of this, and animated by this belief, on 22-23 January, the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI) and the Institut für Europäische Politik (IEP) organized an Italian-German dialogue on the future of the EU, entitled “Germany and Italy, partners in the construction of Europe”.
The Armed Forces in the age of Information Communication Technology (ICT) and the Forza NEC Program

The study focused on the transformation process of Armed Forces in the main NATO countries related to Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and therefore on the progressive realization of Network Enabled Capabilities (NEC). Following the research project conducted by IAI in 2011, the new study started with an introductive chapter and then it analysed three case studies: the American, European and Italian cases. The latter included an update analysis of the digitization process of the Italian Army through the Forza NEC Program and its current developments.
