IAI’s Asia programme has published a number of studies on EU policy in Northeast Asia, examining the role of the European Union in the economic, security and trust building domains in a region where intra-state tensions are on the rise.

IAI, in cooperation with the Japanese Embassy in Rome, organised a conference on regional geopolitics in East Asia on 27 February. Coordinated by the Institute’s Asia Programme, the conference hosted two speakers and provided insight on recent developments tied to maritime security and the role of the ASEAN in the region.
