The African Century: Agriculture, People and the Environment

This is a multimedia project to describe the role of sustainable agriculture in the African development, through a series of case studies on one or more countries in Sub-Saharan Africa such as, for example, Mozambique or Uganda. The project aims at analysing the dynamics that are affecting agricultural development, by focusing not only on the evolution of the primary sector, but also on the role of the new technologies, the protection of biodiversity, the use of natural resources, the role of women and the threats related to the devastating impacts of climate change. The research will produce a series of IAI Commentaries, a web documentary and a volume that will be presented during a public event.
