How to respond to Anti-Access/Area Denial (A2/AD)? Towards a NATO counter A2/AD strategy

20/01/2016, Rome

The seminar was jointly organised by NATO Defence College and Istituto Affari Internazionali at IAI premises in Rome, on January 20th 2016, in order to have an informed reflection among high-level practitioners and experts on the topic of Anti Access/Area Denial (A2/AD) capabilities, ahead of Alliance’s Warsaw Summit. The A2/AD topic involves both military and political aspects, since it refers to the ability of countries like Russia to prevent the projection of military power by NATO nations into operational theatres, via air, naval or land assets.
