Green Deal Watch

This project provides ongoing monitoring of the activities of European institutions – specifically the European Commission, the Council and the European Parliament – regarding the European Green Deal. It aims to raise awareness among institutional actors and key stakeholders about the European Green Deal, while also considering the various national perspectives and interests at play. The Green Deal Watch follows the Energy Union Watch that IAI has published from 2015 to 2019 to monitor the evolution of the energy and climate policies under the previous legislature.
The project – which engages leading European experts on the European Green Deal – includes the publication of reports in English, distributed to key European institutional stakeholders. It also involves organising public events designed to foster reflection on the content covered by the Watch, focusing on issues of particular significance to both national and European debates. For each edition, the IAI also produces a podcast and an interview with a key figure in European climate policy.
