Osservatorio sull’Europa

This project establishes an observatory within the Federazione nazionale dei Cavalieri del Lavoro to analyse the evolution of EU policies, focusing on four key areas essential to the future development of European integration: 1) ongoing negotiations regarding the 2028-2034 Multiannual Financial Framework, highlighting how decisions on the EU budget will significantly influence the future direction of European policies; 2) investments launched at the European level in competitiveness, innovation and research, with a particular focus on the vital link between technological innovation, economic revitalisation and the Green Deal; 3) institutional dynamics within the EU, specifically the political debate taking place within the European Parliament; and 4) industrial investments in defence and security – both at the EU level and by individual member states – to assess their overall impact on the Union from both a political-industrial and an institutional perspective, with a special interest in the development of dual-use technologies and cybersecurity.
The project includes the production of monthly thematic briefs by students from the Collegio Lamaro Pozzani (under IAI coordination); four-monthly assessment reports prepared by IAI; and briefings by external experts covering the various research strands. The initiative benefits from the scientific collaboration of the Fondazione CSF on the economic track focused on competitiveness.
