Italy Calls Mozambique – Strengthening Health and Development Cooperation
The project aims to strengthen knowledge and strategic dialogue on cooperation between Italy and Mozambique in the field of global health. Within the framework of the Mattei Plan, the initiative focuses on analysing the main challenges facing Mozambique’s health system, the role of international partners and opportunities for synergies to foster more effective and coordinated cooperation. The research explores the role of bilateral partnerships in promoting sustainable development in Mozambique, with particular attention to the contribution of Italian actors. The initiative (May-December 2026) includes a field research mission and public events in Italy and Mozambique, involving international organisations, government representatives and other strategic stakeholders. It also envisages the publication of an analytical paper in English, multimedia outputs and a final report summarising the project’s findings and strategically assessing the future prospects of cooperation between the two countries under the Mattei Plan.
