Biography

Lorenzo Colantoni is Senior Fellow for Environment and natural resources in IAI’s “Energy, climate and resources” programme. His focus is on environmental crimes, trade of natural resources, the impact of climate change and the geopolitics of the energy transition, particularly regarding Southeast Asia, Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa. He has extensive experience on the field with local and indigenous communities in several African countries, Indonesia, Brazil, Mexico and Costa Rica, also thanks to his work as journalist and filmmaker. He is author of eight books with national and international publishers, has directed a number of documentaries and collaborates with magazines such as National Geographic and Corriere della Sera.
