Towards the Ankara NATO Summit & Southern Flank

The NATO Heads of State and Government Summit is scheduled to be held in Ankara on 7-8 July 2026, at a crucial juncture for the future of the Alliance. The occasion coincides with the 74th anniversary of Türkiye’s membership of NATO, which marks the country’s prolonged commitment to the North Atlantic Alliance and its principles.

The Istituto Affari Internazionali, in collaboration with the Turkish Embassy in Rome and Turkish Presidency of Communications, is honored to host a panel analysing Türkiye’s contribution to the Transatlantic Alliance. Top advisors to the President of Türkiye in conversation with IAI experts will address the Turkish role in the Alliance across the years, and examine how it may shift in the future amidst mutating global balances and new regional challenges.
