Central European Initiative (CEI): celebrating the present, strategising the future

The Central European Initiative (InCE) is a regional intergovernamental forum founded in 1989 to support European integration and sustainable development through cooperation among its member states. The mission of the organisation is connecting the member states and bridge the economic and societal gaps between them. On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the organisation’s Secretariat, celebrated in Trieste on 17 March 2026, IAI served as the scientific partner for the event. In collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and CEI Secretariat, IAI moderated the celebration and managed the programme, panel composition and the initiative’s core content. Moving forward, IAI will continue to support CEI in its planning through a strategic paper that will convey recommendations and proposals for the future of the organisation.
