Cristian Barbieri

Biography

Cristian Barbieri was Junior Researcher at the Istituto Affari Internazionali, where he was involved in Horizon 2020 projects with a specialization on conducting researches on security sector reforms and CSDP missions. Recent assignments included being responsible of activities within the EU-CIVCAP project on civilian capabilities of the European Union in conflict prevention and peacebuilding and the CIVILEX project on cooperation among CSDP missions. He also has experience on community policing, border police and the Balkans having worked as intern for the EULEX Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo and for the Italian Embassy in Pristina. During his career, Barbieri has served at the EUROPOL data protection office in The Hague, where he specialized in data protection, e-evidence and privacy concerns. He holds a Master’s degree cum laude in International Relations from the LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome.
