Geopolitics of Energy Transition - 4.ed.
The historic energy transition that the world is currently facing, driven by stronger decarbonization policies, rapid low-carbon technological developments, and a strong effort in public and global governance policies, is one of the most important geopolitical aspects of the century, with impacts on national, regional and global socio-economic dynamics. Additionally, Russia's invasion of Ukraine has heavily weighed on the global energy system, potentially making Europe vulnerable to gas supply interruptions.
The IAI's "Geopolitics of Energy Transition" specialization course, now in its fourth edition, aims to provide analytical tools to understand the political-economic dynamics of energy and environmental development and to analyze the geopolitical aspects and regional impacts of the global energy transition. Economic-political scenarios, the role of global actors and private entities, development and policy change factors, and specific case studies will be analyzed.
The course is aimed at undergraduates, recent graduates and professionals with a background in Social Sciences (political science, economics, law), and those who, despite having studies related to other disciplines, want to deepen their knowledge on the geopolitics of energy transition and development strategies, with the goal of entering or establishing themselves in national and international institutions, profit and non-profit organizations, research institutions, particularly specialized in the energy sector.
The course will be conducted in Italian on April 26, 27, and 28, 2023 in hybrid mode, online and in person (the course will also be held in person if a minimum of eight participants on site is reached).
The program is limited in number and the maximum number of participants is 25. To participate in the course, it is necessary to fill out the online registration form attaching your resume.
The registration fee is € 349,00 (VAT included).
For IAI Junior Members and Lazio Youth Card holders there is a 10% discount. For Employees of the Ministry of Defence and by submitting an "Early Application" to the courses that make up the Advanced Certificates of the I and II Semesters, there is a 15% discount on the total fee, against immediate enrolment to be paid in a single payment.
Thanks to the contribution of the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation, two scholarships are also available for income and merit, covering the entire registration fee. The course on Geopolitics of Energy Transition is part is part of the Advanced Certificate in "Gestione delle Crisi Internazionali", a deep and detailed course on intervention methods and practices in crisis and conflict contexts.
