Within the context of the Global Turkey in Europe project jointly run by the IAI, the IPC, and Stiftung Mercator, the Istituto Affari Internazionali organized a conference with Kemal Derviş, the former Turkish Minister of Economic Affairs, former Head of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Vice President and Director of the Global Economy and Development program at Brookings Institution, to discuss the future of Europe’s institutional architecture and how Turkey fits into this process of self-reinvention.

Cooperation between public and private sectors to ensure the stability necessary for economic development and democratic life in sub-Saharan Africa was the main theme of the international conference that the Institute of International Affairs ( IAI ) of Rome and the Foundation for European progressive Studies ( FEPS ) of Brussels, in collaboration with the National Democratic Institute ( NDI ) of Washington DC, organized in Turin on the 1st and the 2nd of December.

The conference “Turkey and European Union Relations: the way forward”, hosted by IAI, in cooperation with the Turkish Economic Development Foundation, was an occasion to focus on some delicate economic and political issues in EU-Turkey relations and problems that are hindering the accession process.
