The European Union and Turkey have been attaching utmost importance to the Middle East and, since the Arab uprisings, the policies towards the region climbed up on the agenda of both actors. The security concerns emanating from the region have been shaping and will continue to shape the policies in the foreseeable future. The region has also been perceived as a tool to evaluate EU’s success or failure in foreign and security policies.

As part of the project "European Reforms and Italy's Priorities", funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and in partnership with the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation, IAI will hold an event on July 18 at 4:30 p.m. in the presence of the Minister for European Affairs, Cohesion Policies and the NRRP, Raffaele Fitto. The purpose of the project is to bring to the attention of the Italian government some proposals to be presented in European negotiations on dossiers of priority national interest.
