Biography

Paola Subacchi is an economist, writer and commentator on the functioning and governance of the international and monetary system. She is a senior fellow at Chatham House (The Royal Institute of International Affairs) in London, a visiting professor at the University of Bologna, and a director of a number of public companies. Her latest book,The People's Money: How China is building a global currency, was published by Columbia University Press. An Italian national, she studied at Università Bocconi in Milan and at the University of Oxford. In 2016 she received the honour Cavaliere dell’Ordine della Stella d’Italia.

G7 & the Global Economy: IAI Conference

A two-day IAI conference with national and international policymakers took place in Rome on 27-28 March to examine major challenges to global economic stability. The Governor of the Bank of Italy delivered a keynote speech on financial market volatility. The event was organised with the support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Bank of Italy.
