Transformations of State and Society in the MENA Region

The MENARA Project studies the geopolitical order in the making in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). It identifies the driving forces behind it, sheds light on bottom-up dynamics and assesses the implications of these processes on the EU and its policies towards the region. This policy brief focuses on the recent transformations of state–society relations within the domestic sphere of the region’s nation-states.
