IAI University of Turin Essay Prize

Launched by the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI) – in the framework of its strategic partnership with the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation – together with the Department of Historical Studies of the University of Turin and in cooperation with the Scuola di Studi Superiori "Ferdinando Rossi" and the Fondazione Luigi Einaudi, the initiative consisted of an essay contest aimed at students aged 32 or younger and enrolled at the University of Turin. The contest asked students to reflect on issues of relevance for Italian foreign policy through the composition of a short essay. By engaging with new generations, the initiative sought to promote new thinking on key aspects of Italian foreign policy while stimulating public debate. Five essays were selected by a committee composed of IAI researchers and academics from the University of Turin. Winning candidates were invited to a prize ceremony and have their essays published in the IAI Commentaries series [2].
