Biography

Gabriele Abbondanza (PhD, USyd) is an international relations expert. He is Senior Lecturer at Comillas Pontifical University; Associate Researcher at the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI); GEMI Researcher at the Complutense University of Madrid; and member of the Scientific Committee of the NATO Foundation. He specialises in the Indo-Pacific, irregular migration, Italian and Australian foreign policy, middle power and great power theories. He has published numerous studies in prestigious peer-reviewed journals, as well as books with leading international publishers. He teaches university courses on international relations, international security and migration studies. He is frequently involved in media, public and institutional debates, both in Europe and in the Indo-Pacific.
