Biography

Diego Maiorano Dr. Diego Maiorano is associate fellow at the Institute of International Affairs (IAI), where he works on Indian politics. He is Senior Assiatnt Professor of Contemporary Indian History at the University of Naples “L’Orientale” and Visiting Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore. Before joining “L’Orientale”, he taught at the National University of Singapore (2018-21), the University of Nottingham (2015-18) and the University of Liege (2012-14). He holds a Ph.D. in Political Studies from the University of Torino. Diego is the author of Autumn of the Matriarch – Indira Gandhi’s Final Term in Office (Oxford University Press, 2015) and co-author of The Politics of Poverty Reduction in India (Orient Blackswan, 2020).
