Acting Together, from G7 2026 to G20 2027

On May 6, 2026, a closed-door roundtable titled “Acting Together, from G7 2026 to G20 2027” was held at the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI) under the Chatham House Rule. Jointly convened by IAI, IDDRI, Think France 2026, and ETTG, the event addressed a critical juncture in international development characterized by declining Official Development Assistance (ODA) and a shift toward leveraging investments for national interests. Several experts and stakeholders analyzed how to integrate outcomes from the April 2026 French G7 Development Ministerial with Italy’s "Mattei Plan for Africa" and the UK’s upcoming G20 Presidency and how to de-risk international investments by engaging institutional and non-institutional actors.
