Africa continues to face significant health pressures, as the region remains heavily affected by communicable diseases while also experiencing a rapid increase in non-communicable ones. The continent is home to two-thirds of all people living with HIV worldwide and nearly a quarter of global tuberculosis cases.

IAI, Friends of the Global Fund Europe, and Focus Equality propose a platform for dialogue and action by organizing the first Private Sector Lab on Global Health. The first meeting was attended by the Italian and international institutions involved, leading companies interested in global health issues, and civil society.

The objectives of the Laboratory are:
- To support, within the framework of the Mattei Plan, public-private partnerships with local and international partners under the health pillar.
-To promote the involvement of Italian private sector actors in global health, particularly in relation to the Global Fund and partnerships with African countries.
- To support the triangulation between institutions, businesses, and multilateral bodies to foster access to quality healthcare services and health equity
