This report analyses Italy’s development cooperation policy within the current international landscape, examining the impact of systemic crises and shifting global geopolitical balances. Particular attention is devoted to the evolution of Italian initiatives supporting middle- and low-income countries, with an in-depth focus on global health and the implementation of the Mattei Plan. Finally, the study provides an overview of the activities conducted by IAI in collaboration with Focus 2030 as part of the project “Development matters: a new Italian development cooperation policy to manage polycrises”.
