Qatar-Italy Policy Dialogue Strengthening Ties Amid Shared Challenges Doha Forum 2025

By invitation only

IAI in partnership with the Center for International Policy Research (CIPR) is honored to organise the Qatar–Italy Policy Dialogue: Strengthening Ties Amid Shared Challenges, a private, invitation only working lunch, held on the sideline of the Doha Forum on 7 December 2025.

This closed-door session will bring together senior figures from government, diplomacy, business and leading policy institutions from both countries to deepen Qatar–Italy relations at a moment of significant geopolitical change. H.E. Majed al-Ansari, Advisor to the Prime Minister of Qatar and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and H.E. Maria Tripodi, Italy’s Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Building on the strategic dialogue launched in 2022 and the long standing diplomatic and economic partnership between the two nations, the discussion will focus on three core areas:
- Strengthening bilateral cooperation,
- Pursuing joint foreign policy initiatives in regions affected by conflict, and
- Expanding collaboration in energy, defense, economic partnerships, skills exchange, and cultural diplomacy.

The conversation will also address shared challenges such as de-escalation and humanitarian responses in crises impacting Europe and the Middle East, including Gaza, Syria and Ukraine, while reflecting on Qatar’s role in mediation and Italy’s role within the European Union and Mediterranean region.
