Biography

Pietro Serino served as Chief of Staff of the Italian Army from February 2021 to February 2024. Previously, he held numerous senior international and strategic positions, including Army Attaché at the Embassy of Italy in Washington, DC (2007–2010), and Chairman of the Steering Committee for the Implementation of the White Paper on International Security and Defence (2016–2017).
Among his most notable assignments were those of Commander for Army Training, Specialisation, and Doctrine (2017–2018) and Chief of Staff to the Minister of Defence (2018–2021).
During his academic training, he attended the US Army War College, where he earned a Master’s degree in Strategic Studies, and completed further advanced studies at the University of Turin.
