Biography

Darlington Tshuma, Ph.D., is Researcher at IAI’s "Mediterranean, Middle East and Africa" programme. In addition, he is a Post-doctoral Fellow at the Thabo Mbeki African School of Public and International Affairs (TM School) in South Africa. He is policy analyst, researcher and peace practitioner with extensive experience working with non-profit organisations, Universities, think tanks and policy institutes in Africa and Europe in varying capacities. His work centres around various aspects of governance in Africa including colonial encounters, human rights, democracy, gender, human security, African development, African nationalism, leadership, and contemporary African politics. He has published widely in leading and respected regional and international journals and periodicals. He is inaugural Africa Policy Fellow of the School of Transnational Governance (STG) at the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence, and an affiliate of the Refugee Law Initiative (RLI) at the School of Advanced Study, University of London.
