General course overview

The debate on the concept of security for States and on crisis phenomena (both regional and global) is increasingly intertwined with issues concerning fragility, the humanitarian sphere, violations of fundamental rights, governance systems, prevention, and post-conflict reconstruction. The persistence or resurgence of sometimes frozen conflicts or recently erupted ones (such as in the Ukrainian and Middle Eastern cases) suggests that the situation in contested territories is constantly evolving and that the nature of armed conflicts continues to change profoundly. The growing prominence of technology as a central variable further confirms the convergence between digital security, cyber threats, and defense strategies.
