Published in the framework of the IAI-led MEDRESETproject, the latest conceptpaper analyses the role of eight leading state-actors in the Mediterranean region (the US, Russia, China, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey and Israel). The paper assesses the policies and changingroles of these actors while reflecting on their impact and compatibility with the EU’s approach to the Med. Funded by the EU’s Horizon2020 programme, the projectaims to deconstruct current narratives on the Mediterranean and advance a new, more inclusive and bottom-up approach to Euro-Med relations.
