Mediterranean: the Water-Food Nexus

The current international food system is broken. Acknowledging the nexus between food and water in Mediterranean cities is essential to launch a transition towards more sustainable societies, as called in the Agenda2030 for Sustainable Development. Mediterranean countries need to address the nutritional transition and actively promote education and awareness campaigns towards healthier diets. The Mediterranean diet, one of the healthiest and most sustainable in the world, is at stake and nneds to be preserved through a stronger cooperation between the two shores of the Mediterranean.
