Italy’s Foreign & Defence Policy under Renzi

As Italy grapples with yet another political crisis, IAI research has produced two papers analysing the legacy of the Renzi government in foreign and defence policy. A first paper assesses Italy’s priorities in Europe, focussing on the government’s efforts to promote new forms of EU integration and advance Italy’s role within the European architecture. A second paper analyses Italy’s efforts to revamp the country’s foreign and defence policy, examining priority areas and efforts to improve efficiency and sustainability in Italy’s foreign military policy
