Global Voices Award 2025

We are pleased to announce the establishment of the Global Voices Award 2025, a recognition conferred by The International Spectator with the support of the Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo and the Fondazione Centro Studi sul Federalismo. This initiative aims to promote greater accessibility and visibility for scholarship that amplifies diverse voices and perspectives within the field of International Relations, broadly intended.
The Global Voices Award will be granted to one article (research article or essay) published in The International Spectator during the solar year (from 1 January to 31 December 2025) that was not initially made available via open access. The selected article will be retroactively converted to full open access at no cost to the author(s), thereby ensuring broader dissemination and engagement.
The award is guided by the following criteria:
1) Scholarly Quality – The article must demonstrate academic rigour, innovativeness, and a significant contribution to the field of International Relations.
2) Inclusivity – The article should reflect the journal’s commitment to inclusivity, whether through the diversity of authorship (including but not limited to region, career stage, gender), the subject matter addressed, and its relevance to underrepresented communities.
In early 2026, a selection committee appointed by the journal’s editors will review all eligible articles and determine the award recipient.
