Stefano Manservisi
Stefano Manservisi has been working with the European Union from 1983 to 2019. He has occupied different functions in the administration and as a top political advisor in several policy areas. Head of Cabinet to Mario Monti (Commissioner for Internal Market, taxation, customs and competition), to Romano Prodi (President of the European Commission) and lastly to Federica Mogherini (High Representative for Foreign Policy/Vice President of the Commission). He has been Director-General for Development and political relations with Africa, Caribbean and Pacific (2004-2010), then Director-General for Migration and Home affairs (2010-2014), EU Ambassador to Turkey (2014) and finally Director-General for International Cooperation and Development (2016-2019).
At present, Manservisi is President of the Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund (GCERF), the global fund to prevent violent extremism.
He collaborates with international organisations – including UNESCO and the OECD – and various think tanks, such as Europa House-Ambrosetti, FEPS, IAI, CESPI, the Paris Peace Forum, Fundación Avanza and Elcano, as well as NGOs like ASVI.
He lectures in universities: Sciences-Po/Paris School for International Affairs, European University Institute/School of Transnational Governance and Collegio Europeo di Parma.
