Alessandra Scalia

Alessandra Scalia was a Junior Researcher in the Security and Defence Programme at IAI, where she collaborated mainly on research projects dealing with security and defence issues at the European level. She earned a Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Bologna (Forlì campus), with a major in International Politics and Security. During her academic career, Alessandra was an exchange student at the European Studies Faculty in Maastricht (Universiteit Maastricht) and at Global Studies Department (University of California at Santa Barbara). Prior to joining IAI, Alessandra worked as an intern at United Nations Office and the International Atomic Energy Agency at the UN Headquarters in Vienna, where she specialized in non-proliferation and nuclear safety and security-related issues.
