The panel presents the book “From Resolution to Practice: 25 Years of the Women, Peace and Security Agenda”, which combines rigorous analysis with powerful emotions. On the one hand, it methodically reconstructs twenty-five years of policies and research on the United Nations' Women, Peace and Security Agenda; on the other, it brings to the fore the stories, voices and experiences of women mediators working in fragile contexts (such as Kosovo, Turkey/Cyprus, Libya, Syria, Palestine/Israel, Lebanon), showing how women have made an essential contribution to peace processes.

The panel will offer an opportunity to engage with authors, mediators and experts, to discover the testimonies, challenges and successes of these experiences and to discuss how women can change diplomacy and international security: it will be shown how reason and emotion are not opposites, but complementary tools for understanding the complexity of conflicts and imagining peace.
