With multilateralism in deep crisis and the emergence of new daunting health challenges the need is widely felt to advance the dialogue on international cooperation and universal healthcare access, particularly for Low- and Middle- Income Countries (LMICs), where significant infrastructural and social hurdles persist. In 2024, according to the World Health Organization, there were more than ten million new cases of tuberculosis with 1.23 million deaths. To respond to these emergencies, a synergistic commitment is required—one that focuses on strengthening health systems, prevention, and equity in the distribution of care.

On the occasion of the World Tuberculosis Day the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI) is organizing an online event to foster dialogue on the cooperation strategies necessary to guarantee the right to health on a global scale. A roundtable involving representatives of national institutions, international organizations, and civil society will assess the state of global health and discuss the most effective political and social solutions to improve health outcomes in low- and middle-income countries, with a specific focus on the fight against infectious diseases and the protection of the most vulnerable communities.
