Risk Forecasting and Scenario Analysis - 6a ed.

01/03/2023 - 15/03/2023, Hybrid course

Risk factors arising from political, security and economic actions, events or phenomena have an increasing weight in defining the risk map of political actors and companies operating on an international scale. Unforeseen changes related to economic or security events, government policy choices, and shocks in the national or international political arena are of increasing concern and require in-depth analysis, not only from an emergency perspective, but also from a forecasting perspective.

This explains the growing demand for professionals as risk experts from the financial, corporate, governmental and humanitarian worlds, but also the more general revaluation of intellectual knowledge related to risk scenario assessment. This course provides useful tools to understand how government decisions, political events of local or global scope, macrotrends of different nature (cultural, social, technological) may affect future geopolitical balances, also illustrating the tools that public and private actors have to foresee and prepare for these risks.

The course is aimed at students, recent graduates and professionals with a background in social sciences (Political Science, Economics, Law) and a specific interest in scenario analysis and forecasting and foresight techniques. It will take place on 1, 2, 7, 8, 14, 15 March 2023 in Italian, with the possibility of some modules in English, in online mode. Assistance and tutoring will be provided to participants for laboratory activities and for the preparation of exercise papers.
