International Terrorism and Religious Extremist
The international political debate since the early decades of the 21st century is dominated by the so-called "global war on terror". Moreover, the world continues to witness brutal acts committed by violent terrorist groups.
The IAI’s course "International Terrorism and Religious Extremism" has the main objective of offering a general picture of the state of the art of current knowledge of terrorism and counterterrorism, through specific case studies and multidisciplinary analysis. Tools for understanding religious extremism will be provided through the analysis of transnational action by violent groups. A part of the course will also be dedicated to the analysis of prevention programs and their evaluation. In order to apply the knowledge covered in the course, a crisis negotiation simulation will be carried out.
The course is aimed at students, recent graduates and civil and military professionals with a background in social sciences (political science, economics, law) with a specific interest in issues related to security and international defense, and it will take place in Italian every day from 26 to 30 September 2022.
The course will take place in hybrid mode. It will be possible to participate in the course both online and in presence. The course in presence will be guaranteed from a minimum of 5 participants on site. In case of failure to reach the minimum number of participants in presence, the course will be held entirely online.
The course is limited to a maximum of 30 attendees. The Institute reserves the right to postpone the course if the minimum number of participants required for its launch is not reached.
In order to participate to the course, it is necessary to fill out the online registration form and attach your curriculum vitae.
