Health product manufacturing in Africa: towards pandemic preparedness and equity

08/11/2023, Evento ibrido - ore 15.30 CET

The Covid-19 pandemic highlighted the long-running global inequalities that affect access to health products, as exemplified by the unequal rates at which vaccines were distributed across high-income and low-income countries, leaving the African continent particularly exposed to health threats. In order to bridge this gap and achieve greater pandemic preparedness, a series of initiatives has been launched by national, regional and international actors to accelerate the production of health products on the continent. How can these initiatives work together to reach the common goal of health equity and pandemic preparedness, and how can G7 countries, under the lead of the Italian Presidency, continue to support these efforts in 2024?
