European Security and Defence, Quo Vadis?

How is European defence changing in light of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the confrontation between Moscow and the West? What are possible developments for the EU and NATO, as well as for the relation between the two actors? Where are major European countries heading in military and technological-industrial terms? IAI’s conference “Security and European Defence, quo vadis?” involves representatives from Italian, European and transatlantic institutions, as well as from the industrial sector and experts in a deep-dive into European defence in this new strategic context. This topic beats important implications, novel challenges and opportunities for Italy’s foreign and defence policy, calling for a whole-of-country approach.
