The EU, the OSCE and the future of European Security

08/03/2016, Rome

At the OSCE Ministerial Council in Belgrade, the Panel of Eminent Persons on European Security, which was mandated by the 2015 OSCE Troika (Germany, Serbia, Switzerland), issued its Final Report with recommendations on how to return to an inclusive security dialogue and to re-build trust to enhance peace and security in the OSCE area. The European Union, on the other hand, launched a period of strategic reflection on its upcoming Global Strategy on Foreign and Security Policy. The IAI-OSCE joint event aims at providing an open debate on how these initiatives could shape the policy discourse on the future European security.
