China-Russia relations and the war in Ukraine

07/10/2022, Webinar

Since the beginning of Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2021, China has embraced the Russian narrative of the war, blaming it on the U.S. and NATO. China has also recalled the need for a “European security architecture” that has developed into a “Global security mechanism” in the following months. At the same time, it has maintained a vague position over the issue of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity rights. Beatrice Gallelli (IAI researcher) will dialogue with Una Bērziņa-Čerenkova (Riga Stradins University) a leading expert in China-Russia relations in order to support dissemination of fact-based information on the issue.
