The challenges of aging society and the role of the G20

14/09/2020, Webinar

The G20 (Group of Twenty) countries – both advanced and developing economies – are experiencing unprecedented shifts in their demographic profiles, including, in particular, fast population ageing. There are however significant differences at regional and country level. These impactful demographic trends present challenges as well as opportunities for both individual countries and the world economy.

The web meeting will discuss the challenges of aging society and the role of the G20 in promoting global responses to the social and economic impact of the demographic transition. The meeting will take place in the framework of the project “The role of the G20 in promoting global governance: challenges and opportunities of the Italian Presidency in 2021”, funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) and the Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo.
