Africa’s Energy Future - Discussing Energy Leapfrogging Potential in Sub Saharan Africa

30/09/2021, Turin, Energy Center | Auditorium (ground floor)

This event will aim at presenting the results of “Africa’s Energy Future”, the joint research conducted by the Energy Security Transition (EST) Lab @energycenter – Politecnico di Torino and Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI) on energy leapfrogging in Sub Saharan Africa, and, particularly, the two products delivered by this collaboration: the report “Africa's energy future” and the related interactive web platform. The conference will be focused on evaluating the chance for the African continent to leapfrog from a condition of low to no electrification, to fully sustainable and universal access to power.

The event will stimulate the discussion on the topic by inviting four African speakers from leading international institutions, each one specialised in one of the four sectors detailed by the analysis: renewables, energy distribution, finance and market and digitalisation.

This meeting has been included by the Italian Ministry for the Ecological Transition in the Pre Cop 26/All4climate agenda.

It will be open to the public upon registration and will be streamed on the channels of the Energy Center and of the IAI.
