T20: Italian Presidency 2021

The Think-20 (T20) serves as an official engagement group of the G20 bringing together the major think tanks and research centers working on the G20 agenda and global governance issues. IAI has been appointed by the Prime Minister’s Office as its scientific partner for the Italian presidency of the G20 and as Co-Chair of the Think20 (T20) Italy 2021. The T20 is an Official Engagement Group of the G20, bringing together leading global think tanks and research centres.

IAI-Intesa Sanpaolo Strategic Partnership

This project – which the IAI conducts in collaboration with Intesa Sanpaolo – aims at analyzing the challenges of “geofinance”, studying the main developments and changes in the global economy and politics. The goal of the IAI-Intesa Sanpaolo partnership is to provide instruments for a better understanding of these ever-changing global dynamics. The project is structured into three types of activities: research and analysis; participation in the national and international debate; dissemination of the research’s results.

The objective of the project was to analyze the projection and role of the EU in the world, with a particular focus on the new policies and initiatives the Union should undertake within the new institutional cycle 2019-2024 to affirm its "strategic autonomy".

Infrastructure investments and the role of the G20

The research project, which the IAI carries out with the think tank Bruegel, aims at investigating infrastructure investments as a crucial factor to foster global growth.
The research will focus on key aspects such as local and sustainable infrastructures. The project will produce two policy papers which will discuss along the Italian Presidency of the G20 and it will include an international conference.

The Role of the G20 in Promoting Global Governance: Challenges and Opportunities of the Italian Presidency in 2021

The project aims at investigating the challenges and policy priorities of the Italian Presidency of the G20 in 2021 in light of the recent developments of the G20 agenda. In particular, it focuses on four key priorities: the reform of the WTO, aging society, circular economy and digitalization and the labor market.
